Prerequisites: pass the visual test of courses, 08 Pipe GTAW- Intro and horizontal 1G roll out.
6G Position consist of welding in a fixed 45-degree position. Student will learn: to weld a root pass in the fixed 6G position, weld a hot pass in 6G position, Weld filler passes in 6 position, and weld the capping process on a 6G position.
08 PIPE-GTAW- 5&2G Position
Lec 5 hours/ Lab 20 hours
Prerequisites: pass the visual test of courses, 08 Pipe GTAW- Intro, horizontal 1G roll out and 6G positions.
In 5&2G position students will learn: how to weld individual root passes in 5G and 2G, weld a hot pass on a 5G and 2G position, weld filler passes on a 5G & 2G position, and learn the capping process on individual fixed positions of 5G &2G.
08 PIPE-GTAW-Test on pipe
Lab 20 hours
Prerequisites: pass the visual test of courses, 08 Pipe GTAW- Intro, horizontal 1G roll out, 6G and 5&2G positions.
Test will be a 2-inch pipe Heavy wall (XL) Tig with ER70S6 all the way out. Once the student is done with test, we will cut straps at 6 o’clock, 12 o’clock, 3 o’clock, & 9 o’clock and bend straps to see test results.
08 PIPE COMBO- Intro
Lec 5 hours/ Lab 20 hours
Prerequisites: having passed the test on pipe of course 08 Pipe GTAW.
Is combined of lecture and lab in one on one demonstrations with the assigned instructor. The introduction will cover basic and fundamental steps needed to know how the PIPE COMBO process on pipe works. Students will learn how to properly fit and prepare pipe bevels, strike an arc, run basic welding beads, perfect their TIG root, and learn to weld 7018 Electrode. Students will also learn to identify and fix any troubleshoot problems that can or may occur. Finally, student will also be thought proper cleaning methods and techniques on the welds that will be executed.
08 PIPE COMBO- Horizontal 1G Roll Out
Lec 5 hours/ Lab 20 hours
Prerequisites: pass the visual test of courses, 08 Pipe Combo- Intro.
At this stage students will be welding on a pipe at a 1G horizontal roll out position. Students will learn to perfect their root and hot pass with GTAW process. Student will then be shown how to: weld multi passes with electrode 7018 and weld the capping process with electrode 7018.
08 PIPE COMBO- 6G Position
Lec 5 hours/ Lab 20 hours
Prerequisites: pass the visual test of courses, 08 Pipe Combo- Intro and horizontal 1G roll out.
6G Position consist of welding in a fixed 45-degree position. Student will learn: to weld a root pass in the fixed 6G position along with welding a hot pass in 6G position with GTAW process. Students will then proceed to Weld filler passes in 6 position with electrode 7018 and weld the capping process on a 6G position with electrode 7018.
